A cheque was presented to Jason Dennis of County Air Ambulance on Friday 19^th February.  Stephen Hunt on behalf of County Air Ambulance telephoned to thank Bowkett's, Bowkett's customers and Nisa Today's Making a Difference Limited for donating such a large amount of money.  Stephen Hunt said that this money is the equivalent of 70 minutes of precious air miles and will potentially "make a difference" to someone's life.

Bowkett's customers voted unanimously last year for the money raised to go to County Air Ambulance.  We now need to know which local charity/good cause our customers want to donate this year's funds to.  We have nomination forms and a box in-store for customers to place votes in.  Voting ends Saturday 6^th March - so hurry we need your nominations.  There is almost £300 in the fund already.......

We also won "Silver Awards" for our own Traditionally Made Black Pudding, our own Beef Sausage, our own Home Cured Bacon and our own Pork, Tomato & Mushroom Sausage.

Bowkett's was visited on two separate occasions by mystery shoppers and we are extremely happy with the results. The overall comments made by the mystery shoppers were:- "This store had very friendly staff and a good selection of produce for a small supermarket. The fresh produce looked especially nice with some local cheeses to buy" - and - "This was a pleasant supermarket promoting local produce, the store was well laid-out and the members of staff were knowledgeable and friendly".

Obviously we know we have friendly staff and quality produce but it's really nice for someone else to tell us...

Help for Heroes was set up in October 2007 to do something practical to help men and women of our Armed Forces who are injured while serving our country. In 2008 our customers raised £1696.09 through the Making a Difference Locally Fund and this donation was made to the Tenbury Wells Chamber of Trade Christmas Light Project.

We are now looking for local good causes/charities to support in 2010.  Do you know of any local good cause or charity that needs our help in 2010?  It could be a local sports team, community group or charity - but we need to know who you are. Contact details are on our contacts page.

It's really easy to raise the funds. Customers simply purchase goods instore featuring the Making a Difference Locally logo and for each product, with the logo, purchased a certain amount is donated to the Making a Difference Locally Fund.  The scheme has already raised millions of pounds nationally for local good causes and charities.  You can read more on our Charity Page.
